Founder's Wall

Our “Founder’s Wall” was developed during the construction of the building to encourage student support at all levels.

Scholarships are the backbone of our Department’s recruiting efforts. To maximize the impact of smaller gifts for student support, an endowment was established to pool these gifts together to create a permanent scholarship account. The “Food Science Alumni and Friends” scholarship assist the Department to offer scholarships to students who excel in the classroom. Our recruiting efforts, modeled after the Purdue football program recruiting, recruit students that have high aptitudes for learning and are focused on science or engineering. By encouraging in-coming freshmen to study food science, we are strengthening the profession known as food science.

To recognize people that have made a one-time donation of $250.00 for the purpose of the “Food Science Alumni and Friends” scholarship, a wall comprised of decorative “bricks” in our main lobby was developed. Each BRICK has the name of a supporter. These names will grace our halls in perpetuity.
