Phil Nelson
Purdue Food Science is proud to announce that Dr. Phil Nelson is receiving the 2007 World Food Prize. Nelson, founding Department Head and current Scholle Chair in Food Processing, received the recognition for his pioneering work in aseptic processing and bulk storage.
The global impacts of this work are immense. Annual usage of Scholle Corporation’s and others’ bag-in-box technology exceeds 5 billion liters worth of aseptically processed product. Also, there are over 500 million gallons of juice processed annually with Nelson’s bulk storage technologies.
Follow along with us as we celebrate this achievement and the recognition being given to Dr. Nelson through the World Food Prize.
